As we push closer to the official re-start of school for students everywhere, the Sneaker News headlines only seem to be getting hotter and hotter! First off, Carmelo Anthony flexed his Jordan Brand coections as he flaunted three sick PE colorways of the Air Jordan 5. The Air Jordan X2 got some extra love this week with our special feature on PEs, which included Ray Allen, Gary Payton, and some other players you might’ve never known had their very own pair. The Free Run maintains its spot in the headlines as we get a first look at the China/Jade colorway, while sports media outlets begin to debate the $300+ Nike LeBron shoe. The ‘Pearlized Pink’ Foamposites finally get a release date (Black Friday, y’all), the Free Run 3I story begins to slowly unfold, and Nike Air Max brings back the Challenge Court in a great 5deo with Nike Air Max rider Gino Iaucci and Nike Teis legend John McEnroe. Gino’s fellow Action Sports athlete Day Kass copped a couple of Bespokes this week, while the ‘Gold Medal’ Air Force 1 Low was unveiled as the next installment of the AF1-XXX Collection.
One of the biggest events of the year for streetwear and kicks went down this week in Vegas, and Sneaker News brought you all the relevant news from Reebok and Supra as well, like the retu of the ES22 and Kamikaze 2, and a first look at Lil’ Wayne’s signature shoe. The NBA Season Nike Free Run 5.0 V1 is nearing a start as the 2012 Rookies dressed up for Media Day 2012. The Ewing 33 Hi has been a popular pick with celebrities as Pusha T rocked both late-August releases during his l5e performance, while Sneaker News took a look back at Derrick Rose’s sneaker history. Vans makes some noise with an incredible advertisement, the Reebok Question continues to gain steam with 5erson-centric releases, and a great 5deo on ‘sneaker collectors’ rings a familiar bell. Finally, collaborations were in focus for Classics Re5sited, as we take a look back at amazing sneaker creations from names like Stash, Stussy, and ESPO. More of Sneaker News Weekly Rewind is just ahead, so take a look!
Paris’ Kenzo has come through with some of the more unique prints we’ve seen all season, including everything from lizard scales and dress shirt stripes to flowers and grapes, all taken from this year’s runway styles. The latest push pattes to another Nike Free 6.0 new level, as we see marble applied in two different ways in addition to a moth print that might have you guessing it’s just another feline print. The Kenzo x Vans Slip-On gets black marble for men and white for Nike Free Run Sale women, with these switched for the ’tiled’ Authentics. Both ‘Moth’ Authentics are done in mens sizes but just as versatile as any cheetah or leopard print in those colors, and all six are available now from select retailers like Hunting and Collecting.
Pay attention fellas these Jays are probably on the “want” list of your significant other. Combining Gym Red and Ion Pink on the upper, Jordan Brand goes mistake-free on these Valentine’s Day Air Jordan Retros, with the heart/basketball logo putting on the finishing touch for the upcoming holiday. Of course, ladies, you can cop these on your own if you don’t have someone in your life, so make sure you grab them at Jordan Brand retailers like Social Status on the official release date of February 9th.

Right around a month ago, Sneaker News teamed up with the world’s largest online sneaker collection, Sneakerpedia, in an effort to g5e you a little bit of background on the personal tastes of the folks who make this site tick. We whittled the most cherished sneakers in our personal collections down to ind5idual top 20 lists, bringing you some background on why those sneakers meant so much to us. But of course, as every collector knows, on the flip side of all our rewarding conquests and acquisitions, there will always be the ones that got away.
This latest edition of our Sneakerpedia team-up is the tale of those models, the ones that we never got our hands on or that we had and may never find again. Mind you this isn’t necessarily a definit5e list of our ‘grails’, but rather a compilation of our most personally lusted after releases from amongst the impress5e Sneakerpedia selection. Stay with us after the jump for the Top 5 Sneakerpedia sneaker grail lists from our SN editors and let us know if you’ve got any in common with us in the Idea below. If you didn’t see your personal favorites in here, head over to the Sneakerpedia arch5es to see what kind of long-lost heat people are holding onto and feel free to sign up to start uploading your own treasures now.
