Has the Nike Air Max+ 2012 helped you Nike Free Powerlines make good on your New Year’s Resolutions? The latest Air Max ruing flagship has been going strong with new colorways since its January lanuch, so even if you haven’t been eating more vegetables or leaed how to pull off that elusive cartwheel, Nike Ruing still has a few more motivational tricks up its sleeve. This new Air Max 2012 pairs Anthracite and Tonal Orange in a way that keeps their merger to the Fuse ventilated sections, a patte following after the Dark Grey/Chrome Yellow edition and vaguely similar to the Huarache Frees that have done so well this spring. So between designs like these and the truly blended AM2012 colorups, we have quite a few options when it comes to novel color combos; how does this style compare to all the others? You’ll see more images after the jump to aide your decision, then look for these at select retailers like FinishLine.

The ‘Huarache’ design concept was an adamant display of out-of-the-box thinking that only Nike could have come up with. Dynamic Fit, the funky exoskeleton, that fact that it had no Swoosh on the upper the Air Huarache and Air Flight Huarache was a flat out marvel of a design. In 2011, Nike revisited the original Huarache models in ‘Free’ format, which despite its non-OG nature, still pleased the masses and almost cracked our Top 30 of 2011. In 2013, we might have a shoo-in for the ’13 Top 30 because the Air Huarache (selected by one Nike Free 4.0 V3 of our editors as their personal favorites) is making a retu in at least two original colorways. If you need a refresher on what OG colorways are retuing, it’s the White/Royal/Scream Green and Black/Purple Punch seen here (note: these are OGs, not the 2013 Retro). Nike Ruing fans it’s time to rejoice!

Sneaker ads have evolved to the point where they either seamlessly blend into your web surfing experience, or absolutely captivate you to the point where DVRs seem uecessary. But back when the printed word was at its peak, full-page ads in magazines used to be one of the most popular ways to tease a new release. Here’s a look at an interesting ‘collaboration’ of sorts from 2001, when mag ad geniuses Absolut got in on the sneakerhead craze before the Nike SB craze helped to usher in the current wave. ’Absolut Obsession’ has the familiar Swedish vodka bottle shape in play as per the usual, but what’s so remarkable about this particular iteration is both that it’s crafted entirely in kicks, and that so many of them represent old school Reebok heat. Have a look at the full ad below, let us know which pairs you’ve owned and if you remember seeing this Serge Paulet photo in its first run. You can also check out a Nike collector’s re-creation of the classic ad after the jump as well.
